After a decade being not put on, the Student Council has decided to put Hoopcoming back on. Student Council gives an inside on the behind the scenes of Hoopcoming being put on and the process behind it.
Student council wants to bring Hoopcoming back to let people celebrate their accomplishments and have something fun to look forward to.
“I plan to achieve an environment where students are able to have fun and celebrate all of their accomplishments in high school whether it’s winning a game, getting good grades, or simply waking up on time for school in the morning. Everyone deserves to have a little fun,” said Student Council President Brianna Jackson ‘25.
They’ve worked hard to put together the decorations and plan on continuing to use them for the dance.
Senior Jozelyn Higuera said, “I’m planning to use decorations from our assembly and focus our main attraction with balloons. Also using supplies from Stucco, which we have a variety of supplies.”
Student Council split up to get the dance all ready on time for the big day.
“Everyone in Student Council gets split into different jobs to ensure that everything gets done correctly and on time,” says Senior Charity Thomas.
Student Council wants to give the students something special to make up for homecoming getting interrupted by the fire alarm that went off.
“Brianna Jackson ’25, our Student body president, brought the idea of creating another ‘Homecoming” due to our FairyTale Fantasy Homecoming we had in September getting backtracked due to a fire drill. Brianna Jackson wanted to give back a redo. Jackson came up with the idea, and I created the theme and name,” said Higuera.
They worked hard making and putting up decorations to represent our winter sports.
“We plan on putting up jerseys, sports balls, gym equipment and other paper decorations,” said Jackson.
