The 2025 boys soccer season is officially over, but it was filled with hard work and making memories. The IHS boys soccer team never gave up at any point and continued working towards their goals until the very end. Full of talented young boys, they were always beyond ready to take any challenge and score a victory. The players are motivated to continue to grow the team. Boys Soccer coach, Sergio Gomez, had said; “I saw the growth from the beginning of the season and I saw it coming. It’s like a puzzle piece, connecting and being better together.” He knew they were skilled and well talented.
Indy’s boy’s soccer players are continuing to grow throughout the years. One of the players on the team is Irvin Villalobos. His favorite position is on the wing. Villalobos said, “I am most familiar with that position.” Ivrin’s most memorable game was in the State semifinals against ACP. He explained, “It was the game where most of our supporters showed up, and we ended up winning, for a spot in the state finals.”
Throughout the Patriot soccer season, the team fought hard together. The bond this team holds is unbreakable, helping them go to the state semifinals in the end.
With all the support they gathered, they managed to get far with talent and hard work. This approach kept the IHS soccer team driven and united, ready to take on the season.
What made Coach Gomez choose his coaching career? The love of sports. He’s been playing sports since a young age. He grew up playing soccer, baksetball, and baseball his whole life. Gomes was lucky enough to play at college GCU while earning his education.
When discussusing Coach Gomez, Irvin mentioned, “Coach Sergio would motivate me during practices.” This is how most players stayed motivated, all thanks to the coach.
Without questions, hte teams hard work and dedication paid off, ending the season with seven wins, three losses, and two ties. It was a great season.
