Movie Review:

IT Chapter 2

IT chapter 2 would be rated 5 stars, because even though this is a horror movie, it still manages to give the audience a few jokes and funny moments throughout the film. Senior Roman Ortega says,”What I liked best about the film was the humor. The jokes were well timed and fit this set of friends.” Junior  Marcela Barrio says, “The film was amazing, for someone who doesn’t get scared it made me jump.”

This movie is the continuation of IT chapter 1 which was released September 7th 2017. IT chapter 2 was released on September 6th, 2019. These movies are a remake of the mini TV series from the 1990. Ortega says, “The Tim Curry version had a bit more horror feel to it.” Senior, Fernando Rubio says, “Skarsgard’s portrayal of the killer clown brought a new original take to the infamous character.”

Chapter 2 takes place 27 years after the first one when the loser club realizes murderous clown, Pennywise, has returned once again. Barrio, says,”The film thrilled me and got me excited. It gave me a rush every time Pennywise was shown and all the illusions that he uses to terrify the cast.”

This movie stars actors Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise and the older versions of the loser club who were beautifully casted. The grown-up versions really look like the child actors from IT chapter 1. Rubio, says,”Both the director and casting director really outdid themselves in pulling together a star studded cast that are all undeniably uncanny to the child versions of the characters. BIll Hader was a very interesting choice in the role of Richie Tozier, as it is a brave departure for the comedian and the very first horror film the actor has taken part in. However, Hader does a brilliant job of duplicating the smart-mouth mannerisms that Finn Wolfhard originated.”
