The Last of Us has great visuals, very detailed production and design along with impactful sound to adapt to its source material. The show shows part of the characters internal lives using action scenes and emotional character growth. They used a desaturated color palette to represent a harsh decaying post apocalyptic world. Most of the show is shot hand held creating a visceral on ground feeling. The tone is sad at times but balances with the moments of human connection. In episode 3 there was an isolated romance within a dead world shifting the tone from horror to a bittersweet tragedy.
