The Independence Freshmen girls volleyball team had an amazing season. With an overall score of 8-8, ending with an end of the season win against Sierra Linda. With the biggest struggles in the middle of the season, the team overcame it and still came out with an impressive comeback.
The teams was very supportive and helpful to one another. Maxenne Azarraga, a sophomore middle blocker, says, “We could understand and be there for each other, even outside of the court.” This season has brought many people together and has become an amazing outcome.
The coaches this year have also made a big impact on the volleyball team, showing support, love, and appreciation towards the girls. “Coach Diego taught me a lot, considering it was his first year coaching,”said Dunyia Moharamali, a Freshman DS. Also Kayla Laines-Lopez, a Freshman middle blocker, says, “Coach Jason made a lot of us smile, and keep our heads up.”
Overall, with a tied score of 8-8, this season comes to an end, an amazing volleyball season for the Freshman team, opening new skills and friendships for all players.
